This engagement session moved through the full length of SoCo's most distinctive stops. Allen's Boots, Austin's iconic western wear institution, which has occupied its spot on South Congress since 1977 and has never once felt like a tourist attraction despite being one. Tecovas deepened the boot culture aesthetic with their particular brand of elevated western goods. The Hotel San José and the South Congress Hotel contributed architectural context on opposite ends of the aesthetic spectrum (the San José's mid-century courtyard minimalism and the South Congress Hotel's more contemporary design language) making this session a genuine tour of South Congress as a complete neighborhood rather than a single backdrop.
